Note: This book describes a traditional North Country ‘Open Lot’ wagon, which is one of the simplest, easiest and quickest to build. Walter Lloyd built half a dozen of these, to a pattern and a method shown to him by Old Joe Cannon.
The book does not give instructions on how the build the 4 wheeled dray, just the accommodation top, but it gives advice on what to look for when you go to buy a dray. Iron tyres recommended, but if you cant find one with iron tyres you can get started with any dray and you may be able to swap the accommodation when you find the dray you want – so long as the size is close enough.
